INTRO TO LIGHT…

Light is a little tricky. It is a form of energy known as electromagnetic radiation that is emitted from a source. It travels as waves in ‘straight lines’ and spreads out over a larger area the further it goes.
Scientists also think its goes along as particles known as photons.  Light is produced in many ways. They generally involve changes in the energy levels of electrons inside atoms.
Regular white light is made up of all the colors in the spectrum from red to violet. Each color has its own frequency and wavelength.
Take a red apple for example, it means that the apple has absorbed all other colors of the spectrum and reflected the red light. Things that are white reflect almost all the light that hits them. Things that are black, on the other hand absorb all the light that hits them.
